Terms of Service

By accessing or using Chox ("the Service"), operated by Chox ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you do not have permission to access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service, including church administrators ("Admins") and church members ("Members").

Chox provides an AI-powered platform for churches to:

• Upload and store sermon audio files
• Automatically transcribe sermon audio using AI
• Generate AI-powered summaries and key points
• Create quiz questions based on sermon content
• Produce 7-day devotionals derived from sermons
• Share content with church members via mobile app

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice.

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

3.2 Account Types

Church Admins: Have access to the web platform to upload sermons, manage content, and add church members. Admins are responsible for the content they upload.

Church Members: Access content through the mobile app only. Members are added by their church admins and can view sermons from churches they belong to.

4.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to the Service, including sermon audio files, metadata, and church branding. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Process your content through our AI services for transcription and content generation
• Store and display your content to authorized users (your church members)
• Create backups for service continuity

4.2 AI-Generated Content

Content generated by our AI services (transcriptions, summaries, quizzes, devotionals) is derived from your original content. You receive a license to use this generated content for your church's purposes. We do not claim ownership of AI-generated content based on your sermons.

4.3 Our Content

The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by Chox and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights
• Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or promotes hatred or violence
• Upload content unrelated to religious sermons or church purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated means to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

6.1 Subscription Plans

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay the fees associated with your chosen plan. Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice.

6.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Your subscription will automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.

6.3 Refunds

Refunds may be provided at our discretion. If you're unsatisfied with the Service, contact us within 14 days of your initial purchase to request a refund.

6.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you'll retain access until the end of your current billing period. Your data will be retained for 30 days after cancellation, after which it may be permanently deleted.

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• OpenAI: For audio transcription using Whisper API
• Anthropic: For AI content generation using Claude
• Firebase/Google Cloud: For authentication, storage, and database

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party services.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Security of data transmission or storage

AI-generated content (transcriptions, summaries, quizzes, devotionals) may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated content before use.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CHOX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruption or data loss
• Errors in AI-generated content

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 if you haven't made any payments.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• You may request your data within 30 days
• We may delete your data after 30 days
