We're sorry to see you go. This page explains how to request deletion of your Chox account and what data will be removed.

Important: This Action Cannot Be Undone

Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will not be able to recover your data.

Please make sure you want to proceed before requesting deletion.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

Personal Information

  • • Your name and email address
  • • Account credentials
  • • Profile information
  • • User preferences and settings

App Data

  • • Quiz scores and progress
  • • Daily devotional reading history
  • • Bookmarks and favorites
  • • App usage analytics

Social Features

  • • Friend connections
  • • Friend requests (sent and received)
  • • Social interactions
  • • Shared content links

Church Membership

  • • Church membership records
  • • Access to church content
  • • Member directory entries
  • • Group affiliations

What's NOT Deleted

Some data may be retained for legal or operational reasons:

Church Content

Sermons, transcriptions, summaries, quizzes, and devotionals uploaded by your church will remain available. This content belongs to the church, not individual users.

Backup Systems

Your data may remain in backup systems for up to 30 days before being permanently purged from all systems.

Legal Records

Certain records may be retained to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Anonymized Analytics

Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics that cannot be traced back to you may be retained for service improvement.

How to Request Account Deletion

Follow these simple steps to delete your account

Email us at delete@getchox.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"

Include Required Information

In your email, please include:

  • • The email address associated with your account
  • • Your full name (as registered)
  • • Confirmation that you want to permanently delete your account
  • • Optional: Reason for leaving (helps us improve)

Verify Your Identity

For security purposes, we may ask you to verify your identity before processing the deletion. This protects your account from unauthorized deletion requests.

Confirmation

Once verified, we'll send you a confirmation email and process your deletion request within 30 days. You'll receive a final confirmation when the deletion is complete.

All personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems

Data is purged from backup systems; deletion is complete
